Koninginnedag in Amsterdam

IMG_3369

Queen's day is one of the few days that double the population of Amsterdam (if not triple). It is celebrated in honor of queen Juliana - the mother of the Beatrix which is the current queen of the Netherlands.

What do people do on queen's day in Amsterdam?

If UK would have a big royal event people would probably entertain themselves discussing the dress of Princess Eugenie of York and the aerodynamic characteristics of her new hat.

In Amsterdam you throw a party on channels!
