First time I've seen New York was at the time of Russian
government coupe in August 1991.
Among things that I've remembered quite vividly were tanks in
Moscow (on our way to the airport) along with a bunch of russian tv
celebrities on the board of our plane. Right from the first minutes
the states were quite a jaw-dropping experience. Everything seemed
to be so shockingly different I just couldn't believe my eyes.
Needless to say that as a seven year old child I had a time of my
life.
Next time I've seen US in 20 years. Things have changed a lot both
for me and the states. So here the set of my ambiguous impressions.
Of course I'm going to start with people.

In Europe you can easily detect one's nationalyty based on the
person's appearance. There are certain things about way people look
or dress. These features are is unique for dutch, spanish, rench or
polish people. Of course it doesn't always work for a hundered
percend but there is a strong trend.
The first thing you immediately notice about New York is there
is no common image of a typical newyorker.
Heres a newyorker

Heres another one

Here are two more newyorkers

Here's another one

And another one

And another one

And another one

Although New York is basically one big community of immigrants
from all over the world it might be pretty hard on newcommers.

If something happens people in New York are more on their own.
Compared to european cities new york is very stressed.

Poverty can be seen on every corner.

From time to time can feel a certain sort of depression in the
air. I must however give a credit to americans since hey are trying
to cope with it ... in their own american way of course.

Basicaly everything in NY can be considered as a
businessmodel.
Even religion has a american branding here

Falling back on solutions that no longer work? Jesus Christ - a
first class lord for your happy lot!

Christian science sunday school - A shining word for your
shining world!
Of course one can not be truly objective while putting labels on
the city. The reason for that is tremendous versatility of New
York. The following image perfecly illustrates a crazy fusion that
New York actually is.
Next time I am going to show the city from a more tranquile site
by writing about the central park.
